As your president, I was invited to attend the softball advisory meeting on October 28th, 2009.
Some of the highlights are:
- Rule Change: Pitching distance to 43 feet.
- Rule Change: game ball core will go from .47 to .45 (order correctly)
- Rule Change: Up to 2 inch hardware will be allowed in hair.
- Scoring Change: A pitcher must throw ½ the innings played to be credited with the win.
- State Series: Will be in Springfield the next two years.
- State Series: Many ideas were presented to adjust the state series and the MSHSAA staff is putting together information to be discussed at area meetings.
- Rules Meeting: Will be completed on line next year. All softball staff members must complete.
